With over 100 members, Victory Life Ministries reaches into it’s community as a non-denominational Christian church that serves as a place of worship for recovered addicts, their families and the community itself. Following the lead of it’s mother church, Victory Temple Church of San Antonio, their resources have an outward-directed focus. Many of the services they offer are designed to reach those who are drowning in the sin of drug addiction.
Instead of waiting on newcomers to come to the church, members are encouraged to seek out those in need by going into drug-infested neighborhoods. By helping them realize that they have a sin problem – not a drug problem, they are able to show them how a life focused on eternal things can reap greater rewards than a life centered on self. The church will bring an addict back together with their spouse and children which creates a support structure that these men have lacked. The accountability and love that stems from their family plays an important role in keeping them from going back to drugs.
